War Games
A popular type of strategy game is war games. These simulators are designed with battle in mind and the rules of the game often drive you to think about military strategy and logistics. War games are often divided into genres, which include economic, historical, fantasy, sci-fi, turn-based, real-time tactical, air combat, and first person shooters.
A turn-based game means that is played by taking turns, whereas real-time games allow simultaneous actions or continuous play. The most common form of a war game is one where players take on roles as either Axis or Allies during World War II. Players can choose from many different units such as tanks, planes, infantry, artillery, etc., each having their own strengths and weaknesses.
