Thanos is coming to Fortnite in a limited-time Avengers: Infinity War event

The space murderer will be playable starting Tuesday.

Purple, radiator-chinned Avengers: Infinity War villain Thanos will be making a limited-time appearance in Fortnite this week, Entertainment Weekly has revealed.

The genocidal Titan will be playable starting Tuesday, May 8 in the free ‘Infinity Gauntlet Limited Time Mashup’ mode, which will work the same as Fortnite’s standard battle royale mode, except that the all-powerful Infinity Gauntlet will spawn somewhere on the map. Find it and put it on, and you’ll be granted the visage of Thanos and his powers—though exactly what those powers will be isn’t clear yet, as Epic has probably not figured out how to manipulate the fabric of time.

Infinity War directors Joe and Anthony Russo are big Fortnite fans, according to EW, (everyone’s playing Fortnite) and it was Joe who contacted Epic to talk mashup.  “Over the past few months, while we were editing Infinity War, we’d take breaks to hop on and get in a few games,” he told the publication. “And then we started thinking, how cool would it be to have some kind of Avengers–Fortnite mashup?”

Look for the mode tomorrow, and read the full interview at Entertainment Weekly.
